Northern Lights Adds Beauty Editor Karama Brown To Roster
Northern Lights now reps editorial vet Karama Brown. Karama has cut some of the top commercials on television today. Her impressive client list includes Audi, Ford, L’Oreal, Nissan, Uniworld, Saatchi & Saatchi, HBO, and ESPN.
“Karama’s unique visual style fills out our roster perfectly, especially her expertise with beauty themed projects. We’ve wanted to work with her for a long time,” explained Northern Lights co-owner David Gioiella.
Karama’s inspiring reel displays a diverse range of talent and compelling mix of beauty, mystery, poise and magic. Much like the editor herself does in person. She’s energetic, a great story teller and thrives on new technology. Karama can easily glide between commercials and promos. She’s tackled the gripping drama of a Marines commercial to the driving beats of an in-your-face Audi spot to a delicately pretty L’Oreal spot featuring the gorgeous Beyonce to a tender and funny PBS dialogue-based promo to an action packed ESPN Classic promo.
“I’m excited to have Karama on board”, says Executive Producer Robin Hall. “As an editor, Karama just gets it. She can work with any client in any situation and make great work.”
“One thing great about Northern is they have that outside the box thinking,” she explains. “They are nimble and can move and adapt and they have all the tech gadgets I need. It is all in one place. If all of a sudden I come up with a creative solution, I can execute my idea right away. We can be creative from beginning to end because of the resources that are there. That’s something that really attracted me to Northern.”
Karama’s goal is to make things fun and efficient for the client. It’s all about a balance between hard work and cultivating great relationships. “It’s all about trust. Being able to know how to talk to people and to have a dialogue and cultivate that human interaction. Whether I’m collaborating with clients in the room or via Skype.”
Karama recently won an Effie for her work on the Marines spot and cut a music video for an album that was just nominated for a Grammy, “Water” by jazz vocalist Gregory Porter. She’s also currently working on an online campaign for Uniworld for Johnson and Johnson hair products and she just finished an online campaign for a Ford Fiesta contest.
