Martha Paul was a tailor by day, a student by night, and above all, a mom and a wife. But her own peri-menopause symptoms were making her life unbearable. Husband Julio then set out to study several possible treatments, including aromatherapy, essential oils and the art of incorporating them in handmade soaps. Today, Julio and daughter Annie run Calantha Organics in Salt Lake City, Utah, where the family manufactures the soaps.

"As odd as it may sound, I sometimes have to thank my wife for ‘inspiring’ me into engaging in this research," says Julio Paul. "I hope to inspire others into living better by making simple lifestyle changes like using a different kind of soap. What has been my dream for years has now come true.”

Annie added, “I have to admit Calantha Organics is my passion and my dad is the best boss, though sometimes tensions run a little high because we’re so alike. But I’d forego a night of sleep or more anytime in favor of raising awareness about better skin care and enhancing our web presence.”
