Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary - Birding trip with Jungle Lore - 9th-13th Feb 2011

Jan. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- A World Heritage Site by UNESCO, the duck-hunting reserve of the Maharajas is one of the major wintering areas for large numbers of aquatic birds from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, China and Siberia. With some 364 species of birds, Keoladeo National park is one of finest bird parks in the world.

Jungle Lore has been customizing trips all this winter for our customers to Bharatpur. The rainfall this year has been great and sighting...s and numbers are at its best. We are glad to announce a specialized birding group trip to Bharatpur, the last of the season.

Bird Life in Bharatpur
The major attractions of tourists visiting the park are the numerous migratory birds, which come from as far away as Siberia and Central Asia and spend their winters in Bharatpur, before returning to their breeding grounds. Migratory birds at Bharatpur bird sanctuary include, several species of Cranes, Pelicans, Geese, Ducks, Eagles, Hawks, Shanks, Stints, Wagtails, Warblers, Wheatears, Flycatchers, Buntings, Larks and Pipits, etc.

ITINERARY

Day 1 – Depart from Mumbai
Depart from Mumbai via August Kranti express from Mumbai Central at 5:40 PM

Day 2 – Arrive in Mathura
Arrive in Mathura by 9:00 AM and transfer to Udai Vilas Palace in Bharatpur. Post lunch we head for our first Jungle Safari in the Keoladeo national park with expert naturalists.
Dinner and overnight stay at the resort.

Day 3 – Jungle Safari
The morning starts early as we head for a morning safari. Post the safari breakfast is served at the resort. After some relaxation and Lunch we head for our next visit to the sanctuary.

Day 4 – Jungle Safari and Departure to Mumbai
We head for our final Jungle safari this morning. We check out from the hotel post lunch and head for Mathura from where we get on the August Kranti express at 6:40 PM.

Day 5 – Arrive in Mumbai
The train arrives in Mumbai by 10:20 AM.
