Newcastle University Entrepreneurs In Line For A Grand Award

Jan. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Newcastle University students, Simon Barker and Leonie Cunnington, have been shortlisted for this months Shell LiveWire Grand Ideas award. Cunnington and Barker run Slotzz, a company focused on bringing bespoke, British made, iPad and iPhone cases to the UK market which they sell through their website http://www.slotzz.co.uk . Slotzz cases are already endlessly customisable, with thousands of variations to choose from, but winning this award the pair will be able to push Slotzz choices way beyond current levels. When asked what winning the award would allow them to do, Cunnigton said:

“With the money from winning this award we will be able to offer a personal monograming and corporate branding service. Individual customers will be able to have their initials, or a small message, printed directly on to their case. Companies will be able to have their logo placed on a batch of cases for either high end corporate gifts or for employees with iPads”

It seems this company is focussed on two things, the first is fantastic quality and customer service but the second is providing something unique that allows people to express themselves. When asked why people would want customisation Barker said:

“iPads and iPhone are endlessly customisable, from apps to wall papers you can have them just the way you like, but then you have to go and cover it in something that anyone can get. Our products allow people choice and a way to express themselves whilst providing all the protection you expect from a case”
