On behalf of the eLearning Conference Organizing, Prof Alain Senteni, the 4th eLearning Conference Chair and the Dean of the School of e-Education at Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU) send an online message to declare the Annual Congress 2011, in Dubai, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of HBMeU. The Annual Congress 2011 held under the main theme, Being at the Leading Edge – How to give Quest for Excellence a New Meaning. The Annual Congress 2011 will feature three outstanding conferences on e-Learning Excellence, Quality and Health & Environment.
The 4th Conference (dubai 31st Jan - 2nd Feb. 2010) on e-Learning Excellence Middle East under the theme ‘In Search of New Paradigms for re-Engineering Education’ will emphasize on knowledge-based, technology-enhanced educational change effectively contributing to the emergence of a learner-centered participative environment.
Many challenges of e-learning will be addressed by four keynote speakers. They are outstanding international researchers in the field. Sir John Daniel, President and CEO of the Commonwealth of Learning and Dr Narimane Hadj Hamou, Assistant Chancellor for Academic Development at HBMeU will speak on the first day of the conference. Professor Denise Kirkpatrick, Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning, Teaching and Quality at the UK Open University and Professor Carmel McNaught, Director of the Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research (CLEAR) at the Chinese University of Hong Kong will speak on the 2nd day of the conference.
On the afternoon of the second day, a Research Panel allowing discussing research trends in quality e-Learning, will be chaired by Prof Mohamed Abd El Hafeez Youssef, the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Scientific Research at Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University. The conference will propose three Special Interest Groups in Corporate e-Learning, K12 Education and Higher Education.
On the third day, four workshops will be held for schoolteachers, purely in Arabic, to discuss the integration of ICT in K12 traditional teaching set ups, using some examples of simple and straightforward technology-enhanced learning projects in the classroom as case studies. The workshops are 1- Educational Technologies new trends and solutions by Dr. N. Ghamraoui, Lebanese Univ. 2- Technology in the Classroom by Dr R. Tamim, HBMeU. 3- Quality education by Prof Denise Kirkpatrick, The Open University (UK) 4- A pragmatic model for activating the role of schools to improve student achievement by Dr Carmel McNaught Chinese University of Hong Kong.
As usual, the forum features a variety of Networking Opportunities and Special Events during which new initiatives will be announced. Accepted papers will be included in the conference proceedings, which will be available in the Delegate Bags. Papers will also be entitled to a Best Paper Awards and Best Presentation. an exclusive Gala Dinner on the second day of the forum, several awards will be delivered.
