PRLog -- Here is the most recent of a long list of studies showing chiropractic care to be less expensive than medical care for low back disorders. This was a large study of Blue Cross of Tennessee cases over two years and showed 20-40% less cost for chiropractic care! Chiropractic care appears more expensive because it has a higher average of office visits, but medical care has much higher indirect costs such as testing including MRI's and CT's, drug costs, referrals to multiple specialists, referrals to physical therapy, higher hospitalization, and higher surgery rates.
