Will America Heed the Call?

Will America remember that what makes a great country is not the land upon which it sits, but the people who live on it?

Jan. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- When you are born the doctor does not ask for your parent’s political affiliation, he asks about your religion. When you pass away from this earth, you’re not remembered by the party to which you belonged, you’re remembered by where you were born, where you lived, where you loved, and where you worshiped.

Today, hateful speech has caused pain and suffering. You can deny it, but it is happening.

We, as Americans, need to remember that we all have a common bond. We love this country. We enjoy the freedoms this country offers. Mindless violence and mindless judgment does not solve any issue, nor does it make anything better for anyone’s lives. We are ever-changing in this country. The America in which I grew up is not the same as the America that will be handed to my children. The tasks keep mounting. It is forever changing. But change comes with a price. As corporations grow, the poor grow with them. As the needs of all grow, so does the ever-changing argument. We must remember this. We are Americans FIRST. We are neighbors, brothers, sisters and friends. We all impact each other - those impacts change our future and mold our children.

Our country is in deep despair. Economic disaster has struck. There are millions of wounded who’ve been left on the battlefield. We need healing. We need Americans to see us and to reach out to us...and to help us. And also for them to realize that maybe they were wrong in their judgment of us - too realize we are their neighbor, their friend, their family, their fellow American.

Will this country heed the call of Americans who are wounded and suffering? Or, will they continue to argue the politics of their agenda? Will they realize, too late, they could have gotten involved? Will they realize, too late, they were wrong? Will they remember the country they knew and loved? Will they remember that what makes a great country is not the land upon which it sits, but the people who live on it?

Will America heed the call?
