Bergonzi to Perform Schubert at BIG ARTS - Sanibel, January 27

Jan. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- A concert featuring The Bergonzi Quartet and cellist Adam Satinsky will be on stage at BIG ARTS Thursday, January 27, at 8 p.m. BIG ARTS Schein Performance Hall is located at 900 Dunlop Road, Sanibel. Tickets are general admission $41, Loge $46, Student/Child free with paying adult.
                     
The Bergonzi, with guest cellist Adam Satinsky, will perform the well-loved  String Quartet by Schubert. The Quartet will also perform “Leyendas: An Andean Walkabout” by Gabriela Lena Frank, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Divertimento in D major, K. 136, Salzburg Symphony No. 1, Antonín Dvořák’s Nocturne in B major, Op. 40, and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings in C major, Op. 48.    
       
The Bergonzi Quartet has generated great excitement for its superb blend of seasoned and sensitive virtuosi. Prior to joining the Bergonzi, its players were members of the New World, Rowe, Chester, and Ellis Quartets. Since its formation in 1992, the Bergonzi String Quartet has been quartet-in-residence at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, where all four musicians are faculty members. They have extensive collective experience, performing in virtually every major center in the world. First violinist Glenn Basham is the concertmaster of the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra, guest performer Adam Satinsky is principal cellist there.
