Michel Roux at Parliament Square rolls out Agilysys technology solution.

Jan. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Restaurant Associates has installed InfoGenesis™ POS and ResPAK from Agilysys (Europe) Limited in the first fully-commercial fine dining restaurant in Parliament Square, London.


As a supplier of EPoS to Compass Group UK and Ireland, Agilysys has in recent years provided solutions for a number of stadia and sporting venues where Compass manages hospitality catering operations.  Earlier this year, Restaurant Associates invited Agilysys to meet the new restaurant’s requirements for electronic point-of-service with inbuilt Chip & PIN processing, and for technology to manage and automate its dining reservations.

Agilysys has supplied its InfoGenesis™ POS solution together with integrated ResPAK restaurant management and reservation functions.  Wireless Chip & PIN functionality enables bills to be settled at the table.

Business-wide systems integration means that ResPAK can be used to take a reservation, drinks tabs can be opened in the bar and allocated to the table, restaurant orders are communicated electronically to the kitchen and printed remotely, with the InfoGenesis point-of-service accounting application managing the entire process and making easy work of final bill reconciliation.

The technology project was a demanding one, with implementation needing to be completed within a 6-week timescale.  The listed Georgian building also presented challenges, and Agilysys worked closely with the client to respect the architectural integrity of the building. The company installed a wireless network that would function through thick stone walls, with low-profile wires and access points for Chip & PIN.  

Benefits are being gained by the client in terms of point-of-service efficiencies and accuracy, together with the ability to deliver personalised service to new and returning guests.

The restaurant is located one of the most beautiful buildings in Westminster, in RICS’ Grade II listed premises, with stunning views of The Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.  The building was designed by the architect of London’s iconic National History Museum, and has been furnished in a contemporary style.
