Live-Work Lofts and Condos: A Community Revolution

Jan. 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Live-Work is the name for condo and loft developments that combine space for living and business in the same residence.  

Oakland, California has been one of the leaders and pioneers in this work.  Oakland is a large, multi-racial, multi-cultural city, with perhaps the largest number of artists outside New York City, and artists are particularly attracted to the live-work environment.  

Oakland has many beautiful neighborhoods.  It also has large tracts of industrial buildings, that have been on the forefront in converting to live-work places.  

Thomas Dolan, President of Thomas Dolan Architects, is a pioneer in the development of live-work spaces and projects in the Oakland, California area.  An interview with him is below.
