-- With rising fuel costs and mainly damp un-seasoned wood available, the average cost for heating the home is soaring, however a new start up business might just have the answer….
The Eko company based in Passfield, is a new business venture set up by two local lads on a mission to reduce harmful emissions to the environment, needless tree felling and reduce household heating costs.
Inspired by their travels to the Far East, business partners Guy & Matt first came across this exciting new fuel in a small local village in its rawest format where they could not believe the heat this food bio-waste product made and the length of time it burned for! After 2 years of development and testing the ‘Eko Log’ was born and they are now hoping to make it a household name for home owners with open fires and stoves.
The Eko Log measures 10 x 3.5 inches and is made from 100% bio-waste which means it produces very few harmful emissions and burns with a strong clean flame with no spitting or smoke. The Eko Log is already proving to be a big hit to all users of open fires and wood, coal & oil burning stoves, due to the length of time it burns for and the heat it generates, which when compared to wood or other Eco log briquette alternatives wins hands down and why so many households are now favouring this environmentally friendly alternative Eco firewood. What’s more the ash it produces can be used as a fertiliser, which makes the Eko Log a truly environmentally friendly fuel.
