Follow on Google News | Jamie Patrick to Swim 240 Miles Non-StopIn August of 2011, Jamie Patrick will swim 240 miles non-stop down the Sacramento River. This journey will take Jamie over 60 hours. He will set the world record for longest non-stop swim in history.
By: Jamie Patrick Jamie is an accomplished athlete. He began swimming at the age of seven and has not stopped since. His first coach was Olympic gold medalist Matt Biondi. Jamie swam for the University of Hawii and Long Beach State. He has completed 15 ironman Triathlons (2.4 Miles Swim, 112 Mile Bike, 26.2 Mile Run), a Triple Ironman (7.8 Mile Swim, 336 Mile Bike, 78 Mile Run), and two Ultraman World Championships. This next swim is not Jamie's first record. In August of 2010 he became the first to complete a double crossing of Lake Tahoe. This 44 mile swim took Jamie a little over 25 hours to complete.
