Jan. 12, 2011 - PRLog -- January is Cervical Cancer Awareness month.  As part of a commitment to our community of women, D. VanEvery & Associates is partnering with the Triangle Ladies Power Lunch for a luncheon that is focused on the prevention of this insidious disease.  If you have a daughter, a sister, a niece, a friend, or any other female in your life, you will not want to miss this event at MacGregor Downs on January 18.

We knew that in order to have an impact on the women of the Triangle, no ordinary speaker would do.  We had to have someone who was dynamic, charismatic, insightful, and exceptional.  We found her.

"Christine Baze is the picture of strength and courage in the face of devastating odds," said Carrie Peele, founder of the Triangle Ladies Power Lunch.  "When I was approached about this event, I was determined to be involved."

Christine Baze is the founder of the Yellow Umbrella Organization.  She is also a cervical cancer survivor.

Her story is remarkable.  Her courage is inspirational.  Her humor is delightful.  And her passion to this cause is unquenchable.  Christine is the true champion for courage and grace in the face of life’s uncertainties.

In 2000, at age 31, Christine was a thriving young musician with all the potential in the industry.  She also received a diagnosis that forever changed her life – she had aggressive cervical cancer.  Christine began the fight for her life, and ended up finding her mission in life.

She won the fight for her life.  Now, she wants to ensure that women everywhere had the knowledge, and the courage, to face life without fear.  So, in 2002 she hosted her first prevention concert.  Merging music and awareness, the concert was called PopSmear.  She has made over 100 stops across the country since then, giving a message of hope and of humor in the face of illness.

For her efforts, Christine was awarded a presidential leadership award from Women in Government in 2006 and has continued her mission to eradicate this disease.

You will not want to miss hearing Christine’s story or her music.  So, please mark your calendars now for January 18 at MacGregor Downs.  It will be a signature event of the year!  To register for this event, please visit www.ladiespowerlunch.com.
