Jan. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Honda’s new 2012 Civic made its grand debut on January 10th at the Detroit auto show. The Civic has been one of Honda’s best-selling models for nine years.  The new Civic  offers gas mileage of around forty miles per gallon and is expected to be more fuel efficient, lighter and more affordable than the current model. There are plans for a hybrid version which will utilize a lithium-iron battery.  

Eco Assist will also available on the Civic. This is a sophisticated system that trains the driver to drive more efficiently by providing consistent feedback.  Appearance wise, the 2012 Civic offers a more aggressive and edgier exterior with updated taillights and a new rear bumper.  The new model appears smaller than its predecessor but offers a spacious and roomy interior. Three powertrains will be available; a traditional engine, a natural gas model and a hybrid version. The new Civic will also make use of Honda’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering Structure, which helps to protect passengers during impact by evenly distributing force during a frontal collision. Pricing has not been officially released yet.

All current Civics except the SI model use a 1.8 Liter Engine and fuel economy stands at 25 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the interstate.  Passenger seating is comfortable and a tilt and telescoping wheel allows you to easily adjust the driver’s seat to your needs.  The 2011 Civic is priced around $14k for the base model.
