Jan. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- GREENSBORO, N.C. – Dr. James K. Weeks, who has served since 1990 as the Dean of the Joseph M. Bryan School of Business and Economics, is joining the Advisory Board of Beyond Morale™.

Under Weeks’ leadership as dean, the Bryan School has expanded its international activity, added six new degree programs, established research centers and increased its endowment six-fold to more than $24 million. Of the more than 19,000 alumni of the school, roughly half received their degrees during his tenure as dean.

“It’s hard to express the excitement and gratitude I have in sharing this news,” said Jim Rembach, Chief Spokesman, Beyond Morale. “Dr. Weeks is a leader of leaders and we look forward to his contribution in helping with our strategy to more aggressively deliver our solutions for the growing employee engagement and leadership crisis to North American businesses.

During his tenure as dean, the school began offering bachelor’s degrees in entrepreneurship, international business and marketing; a master’s degree in information management and technology; and doctorates in economics and information systems.

In addition, two Bryan School research centers – the Center for Business and Economic Research and the McDowell Center for Global Information Technology Management – and the university-wide North Carolina Center for Entrepreneurship were established.

He led the effort to earn international accreditation by the premier accrediting agency for business schools, the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). Initial accreditation was earned in 1982 and has been maintained ever since. The most recent accreditation review, completed in April 2010, recognized the continuous improvement and excellence of programs throughout the business school.

Weeks serves as a member of the Moses Cone Health Systems Board of Trustees, and on boards of other firms including Biscuitville Inc., Brady Trane and Samet Corporation.
