By: City and County of Swansea To mark St David’s Day and celebrate the city’s Welsh heritage, Swansea will be hosting St Davids Week, a week long festival of music, art and entertainment, from Saturday 26 February until Sunday 6 March. Whilst a whole host of events have already been confirmed, Swansea Council is offering businesses in the city who are planning events or special menus to coincide with St David’s celebrations, including restaurants, hotels and community groups, the opportunity of free promotion as part of the St David’s Week marketing campaign. Businesses are encouraged to fill in details of their events and offers online at http://www.saintdavidsday.com or telephone 01792 635458. All details will be listed for free and promoted under the umbrella of ‘St David’s Week’. Frances Jenkins, Strategic Manager for Tourism, Marketing and Events said, “Swansea is the only city in Wales to create a week long Festival for our Patron Saint and we have a diverse and exciting programme once again this year to celebrate what’s great about being Welsh.” “The week is already packed with lots of different events, a number of which are free and we are hoping that many more of the city’s businesses will come on board to help make this year’s St David’s celebrations even better.” # # # News about activities, events and attractions in Swansea, Wales, UK.
