Follow on Google News | Once Upon a Time supports The Children’s SPOT at Saint Luke’s HospitalA Dress Up Event for Children and Their Grown Ups
By: Saint Luke's Health System Together with Honorary Co-Chairs Connie and Anthony Mendolia and Co-Chairs Daniel and Theresa Alcazar, guests will enjoy child-inspired entertainment, dancing, dinner and unique table masterpieces. New this year will be a table decorating contest judged by HGTV Design Star Jennifer Bertrand, NBC Action News’ Amy Hawley and Kansas City blogger Patricia Shackelford, also known as “Mrs. Blandings.” The Children’s SPOT at Saint Luke’s Hospital provides speech, physical and occupational therapy to babies and young children with developmental delays or disabilities such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and autism. All event proceeds will benefit The Family Assistance Program at The Children’s SPOT. This program ensures that children on Medicaid or children without adequate insurance coverage will receive the intensive therapy they need, regardless of ability to pay. “For so many families, The Children’s SPOT is a blessing. Unfortunately, insurance often does not cover the kind of early intensive therapy these children need to thrive. We’re grateful to supporters of Once Upon a Time for helping them to get the best start in life,” said Co-Chair Theresa Alcazar. A patron party will be held on Thursday, March 3, at the home of Thomas and Starr Wagstaff. ‘Ever After Friend’ sponsorships are available for $1,000 and include two patron party tickets. Individual tickets are $100 or $75 before Feb. 15. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
