By: Community Coalition Against Human Trafficking Across the nation, more and more people recognize that human trafficking is a huge domestic problem that needs to be addressed. To help raise awareness on 1-11-11, National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, eight Tennessee NGOs have pledged to wear white, to show a united front and be a light in the darkness for all those trapped in sex and labor trafficking. Collaborating on this event will also raise awareness about human trafficking so that it can be prevented from taking place. Awareness is the best form of prevention! During the month of January, there will be many activities going on across the nation to raise awareness about human trafficking; No matter what our political or religious differences may be, we have the opportunity to show a united front across our great nation that we are dedicated to combating human trafficking together. We can show that we are united to be one voice for those who can’t speak for themselves. So, how can you participate? Be the voice. Spread the word. Unite and wear white. 1. Pledge to wear white wherever you are on 1-11-11. If you want to be included on our website, send us an email to onevoice@ccaht.org and include your name, city and state. 2. Take a creative picture of yourself or your group wearing white on 1-11-11 and send them to us at pics@ccaht.org. We are creating the “Power of One” awareness video from individuals and groups wearing white on this day. Only appropriate pictures will be used for the video. Details can be found on our website. 4.
