RTP CFO Forum to Discuss Sales, Use, and Local Tax Updates

Jan. 5, 2011 - PRLog -- RALEIGH, N.C. (January 5, 2011) — The RTP CFO Forum (rtpcfos.com) will hold its monthly meeting on Friday, January 7, 2011. The organization serves as a peer-to-peer networking and discussion opportunity for more than 200 senior financial executives in the Triangle area. The meeting will focus on sales, use, and local tax updates.

Eric Wayne, sales and tax use director, North Carolina Department of Revenue; and Bill C. Smith, Sr., executive director of state and local tax, Ernst & Young LLP, will discuss sales and use tax updates with members. Bobby Bahram, RTP CFO Forum board member, and CFO and COO, TransLoc Inc. will moderate the panel. Topics include:  

•Major legislative changes  
•Updates on “Streamlined Sales Tax Project”
•E-commerce tax issues
•Cloud computing implications
•The role of sales and use tax in mergers and acquisitions
•Liability and audit defense and common mistakes
