Mason offers both a traditional resident summer camping program and a variety of summer adventure and equestrian programs to area children and teens. Camp Mason is located on 600 wooded acres in Warren County, adjacent to the 70,000 acre Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. Founded in 1900, Camp Mason is preparing to open its 111th camping season. Families looking for a traditional summer camp experience are offered a resident camp program that features a selection of daily activities such as sports, swimming, boating, arts, environmental learning, and recreational activities. Theme weekends and a variety of optional hikes and river trips are also available. All camp activities are designed to facilitate fun and learning, while reinforcing the Core Values of the YMCA: Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. Leadership opportunities for older campers include Leadership Treks and Counselor-in- The Diamond M Ranch Camp runs at the same time as the resident summer program, providing a western ranch experience for campers who enjoy horses. Ranch Camp offers youngsters the opportunity to spend half of each day involved in horseback riding activities, including trail rides, riding instruction, ring events, and hands-on care. Each ranch camper is assigned a horse and is responsible for tending to it during the two-week long session. The other half of each camper’s day is spent in traditional camp activities.
