PRLog -- St. Vincent de Paul is appealing for blankets from Washington Husky Men's Basketball fans and the community to help homeless and needy people during the cold winter months. Fans can bring a blanket to the UW Men's Basketball games on Jan. 6 (vs. Oregon Ducks) and Jan. 8 (vs. Oregan State Beavers). People not attending the game can drop off blankets at their local St. Vincent de Paul store. Cash donation are accepted too and online at www.svdpseattle.org
"Providing a blanket can keep someone from freezing to death in these winter months or help a child keep warm in a family going through tough times. Help us make a difference through our St. Vincent de Paul blanket drive," says Andre de Klaver, executive director of St. Vincent de Paul Society of Seattle/King County.
St. Vincent de Paul has 53 all-volunteer groups who make home visits to help the needy in Seattle and King County and more than 100 such groups throughout Western Washington. Other programs help provide additional help and hope to homeless and needy. The 2-1-1 Community Information Line refers more people to St. Vincent de Paul than any other agency in Seattle/King County.
