Jan. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- The Hispanic Seafair Organization will host an orientation on Saturday, January 29, 2011 to inform and sign-up potential candidates for the Miss Hispanic Seafair Scholarship Program, which provides collegiate scholarships, to the elected Miss Hispanic Seafair, and her court, depending on funds raised.

The orientation will take place 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Univsion Television Seattle, located in Fischer Plaza at 140 Fourth Avenue, in the Forum.   Special guests include:  Michelle Font, Miss Washington USA 2008 and Krystal Hernandez, Miss Hispanic Seafair 2010, as well as Univision News personalities.  Univision Seattle will also be recording this event for future broadcast.

Candidates that qualify and choose to participate in the program following the orientation will receive training in public speaking, interviewing, etiquette and grooming over the course of three months through a series of workshops and appearances.  Training is designed to help build well rounded role models and community advocates, and to position each young woman for success and life-long leadership.  Candidates must be 18+ by August 2011 and be enrolled in a college, university or technical school.  Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievements, community service platform, creative expression, a personal interview, and participation in program events.
