(Kingston, Jamaica 01-03-11) As if to make a good start, Reggae Lovers Rock Crooner Stevie Face, ring in the New Year 2011 in an all too familiar chart position, the ‘Number 1’ spot. Having songs perched on all local video and music charts, Stevie’s ‘In The Living Years’ single holds the top spot on Outaroad Reggae Chart for two consecutive weeks while his ‘Thank You For Loving Me’ single is the Top 5 Bubbler on that same chart. The Penthouse produced single then hits the Jamaica Music Countdown chart (JMC) over the Christmas holiday season settling at #25 among the list of Top 25 Reggae singles. On the local music video scene, ‘Thank You For Loving Me’ holds down the #4 spot on Video Alley Top Ten aired weekly on national station, Television Jamaica (TVJ), #10 on FIWI Choice Top 10 and #6 on Hype TV. Stevie Face recorded a single for producer Joe Frazer entitled, ‘Roses In Your Eyes’ internationally, that single has been bubbling on Toronto radio host Richard Banton Hot List, Blazing Bubblers Rising To The Top. The Bootcamp produced ‘Tell It Like It is’ album which was released in 2009 sits at #19 on Italian DJ Gusma, Top 25 Jamaican Artistes Albums while ‘Roses In Your Eyes’ enjoys the #5 spot on the Top 25 Reggae singles chart. In the United Kingdom where Stevie is said to have his strongest fan base, Thank You For Loving Me is #7 on Chris Coxson, New Style Radio Top 10 Reggae singles chart. Thank You For Loving Me ended year 2010 holding down the #12 spot on the Caribbean Top 30 Reggae/Soca/ Sophia Brown pushes for more US Radio Airplay! Sophia Brown has had a progressive year in 2010, she sought significant US radio airplay and after getting a feel of its benefits moving forward into 2011 has extended the promotion. This follow hot on the heels of a debut entry on the New York Top 30 Reggae Singles chart in November with the Cashflow produced, ‘Let it Be Me’ single. That single did not spend much time on the chart unfortunately but was quickly replaced by another of a series of potential hits she unleashed whining down 2010 entitled, ‘Lovers Rock.” The song made its entry at #25 then jumped three places to #21 this week after spending 4 weeks on that chart. And it did not stop there for that song as it also found its way onto the South Florida Top 25 Reggae Singles Chart and is this week #14. Now both the New York Top 30 and South Florida Top 25 Reggae Singles charts respectively are compiled by Clinton Lindsay. “Data is collected from a combination of sale reports, listeners’ requests, and airplay”. Meanwhile “Let It Be Me” produced by Cashflow is #13 on Chris Coxson’s UK Reggae Chart. Nesbeth Reinforce his position on Significant Local Charts! After 15 weeks on the Jamaica Music Countdown Top 25 Reggae Singles Chart, Nesbeth holds the #8 spot among the top ten Reggae songs on that chart with the Jan Biggs produced, ‘A Nuh Suh Mi Waan Live’ single. Like a staple, ‘A Nuh So Mi Waan Live’ might very well be one of the top 20 Reggae songs released in Jamaica in 2010. The Stampede Street Chart is reporting that the song is #5 this week while Outaroad Top Music Chart has made the single the #1 Top 5 Bubblers this week. Even though it has slid off the video charts, ‘A Nuh So Mi Waan Live’ is one of the better videos for 2010 as the video director cleverly captured the message in the song and drives home the sad reality of a society that we seem to have become accustom to. ONE N ONES! On the Jamaica Music Countdown Top 25 Dancehall Singles chart David M ‘Girls Night Out single’ holds the #12 spot while Cerassie Tea ‘Who Give the Order’ single is the #5 Top 25 Reggae song this week. Dancehall artiste Bramma now sits second in line on Toronto base radio host Richard Banton Hot List, Blazing Bubblers Rising To The Top Reggae/Dancehall with a song entitled, ‘Yu Bad’ produced by Truckback/Locke. Sophia Squire, ‘Nah Fight Ova Man’ single is #12 on Stampede Street Chart Top 20 Reggae Singles while Cush Hunta holds the #9 spot this week.
