Dec. 31, 2010 - PRLog -- Apofacy Predictive Model Leverages Regular Season Stats

Apofacy Solutions has developed a predictive model that projects the probability each NFL playoff team will win specific playoff games as well as the Superbowl. The model displays these probabilities as pie charts within the framework of the playoff "brackets" and allows the viewer to interact with it by adjusting the influence of regular season records on playoff performance.  The model also considers the “bye” week, and the benefit of home field advantage, and adjusts probabilities accordingly.
Based on regular season statistics, the New England Patriots are favored to win the Superbowl.
“This display is a fun and interactive way for individuals to become familiar with predictive models, regardless of their quantitative abilities” says Anthony Chamberas, Principal of Apofacy Solutions.  “It not only clearly presents results, but also allows the viewer to adjust assumptions based on their gut feel”.
