By: Forte Creative Media A special Lids on Kids tent will be located near the base lodge area where toddlers through pre-teens will be fitted for a helmet by a specially trained Lids on Kids program volunteer. Then, before heading to the lift, kids and parents will participate in a short education program to learn and understand the skier/snowboarder code of safety and responsibility. There’s no charge for participating in the program and the helmets are the children’s to keep. “Safety, fun and learning—those are our top priorities,” “Helmets are on the rise in popularity among kids and adults,” says Sheffield. “Today’s helmets are lightweight and designed for comfort and additional warmth. And kids love putting cool stickers on their helmets, so we encourage local parents to have their kids take advantage of this great opportunity.” The program coincides with National Ski Area Association’ “MountainView Hospital is dedicated to the health and well-being of the children in our community,” said Will Wagnon, CEO of MountainView Hospital. “We believe that the Lids on Kids program is a great way to educate both children and parents on the responsibility that comes with the fun of winter sports.” Directions to LVSSR from downtown Las Vegas: Take U.S. Highway 95 north approx. 30 miles to Hwy 156, Lee Canyon.
