Indian Film at Videoformes International Festival 2011, Clermont-Ferrand , France

Dec. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- New Delhi --The Indian film industry is typically known for producing lengthy films high on drama and filled with song and dance, but there are also some different kinds of films coming out from India giving a fresh experience to the audience.  One such film is “Sumthing Like Luv” a short film soon to be showcased at Videoformes International Festival, 2011, Clermont-Ferrand, France.

The festival will take place at Clermont-Ferrand, a city famous for some of the most prominent short film festivals in the world. Since 1986, Videoformes has been annually organizing an international video and digital art festival. The event highlights the quality of the works and artists through exhibitions, lectures, screenings, performances, debates and meetings. Established and new artists get to meet in a stimulating venue of multimedia presentations, cinema and video film screenings, performances, web art, live video and music performances (VJ’ing, D’ing) etc. Videoformes is now engaged in the development of Digital Video Archives, one of the most important video and electronic art collection that has been put together in over twenty years. The upcoming festival would begin from 16 March 2011.

It is a moment to cherish for Producer Nikhil Sablania and Sudhir Raut, Executive Producer of the film “Sumthing Like Luv.” The film has been made for their company Cowdung Films, a film production, marketing, distribution and consultancy company, based in New Delhi, capital of India.

Talking about the film, Nikhil says, “From the very beginning we wanted to make a good short film. Audiences from Europe and other Westerns countries appreciate the short films a lot. With films like ours, “Sumthing Like Luv,” Indian audience would experience some of the more sophisticated creative work by film artists. This film would not have been possible without the support of many friends and relatives so we would like to thank everyone who helped us in making this movie, which is now a success.”

In the bustling metropolis and capital of India- Delhi, a love story unfolds and opens up a window into the lives of the newer generation. In bits and pieces the film speaks about their aspirations, cool language, crisis and a newly found stress buster to beat up all of their blues. The 17 minute digital color film has been entirely shot on location in East Delhi in the areas Laxmi Nagar and Ghaziabad. The film has been directed by Siddharth Sinha, with Neerat Kaur as main cast. The crew of the film includes Anmol Bhave as Audiographer, Savita Singh and Aditi Sharma as Videographer and Suchitra Saathe as Editor. Fast food chain Fast Trax, retail megastore Standard's Max and Sheeba Unisex Saloon have supported the making of the film for the cause of promoting Indian cinema.
