Dec. 30, 2010 - PRLog -- European customs is now enforcing its new advanced manifest rule for all 27 European Union (EU) member states plus Norway and Switzerland. All goods entering any of the participating countries must make a security filing, including FROB (Freight Remaining on Board) and Transshipments. The data must be transmitted no later than 24-hours prior to vessel departure from the point of origin and must be sent to the EU country where the first port of entry occurs.

As a leading provider in supply chain technology software, transportation software provider IES, Ltd. is poised to offer tools within its suite of software solutions to comply with the ruling. The company has announced that it has already deployed a compliance application within its web-based compliance software as a well as a tool within its powerful desktop application.

The trade industry has kept a close watch on the development of EU security filing requirements in the participating countries. The intention of the ruling is to further secure the supply chain by performing a security risk assessment prior to arrival of the goods into the EU.
