The All-New Hyundai Sonata Named One of Three Finalists for 2011 North American Car of the Year

The All-New Hyundai Sonata is one of the three finalists for 2011 North American Car of the Year, competing against the Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf.

The evaluation process was decided by a jury of 49 independent automotive journalists. All the new cars introduced this year was evaluated by the jury and three have been chosen to compete for the top honor. The winner will be announced at the 2011 North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 10, 2011.

The All-New Hyundai Sonata has so much to offer for the year 2011. The Sonata is powered by a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine that uses gasoline direct injection to achieve 35 miles per gallon on the highway. The powerful engine delivers 198 of horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque with either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2011 Hyundai Sonata offers new head turning exterior features including a wide chrome grille, chrome trim along the side windows, and a tapered roof that resembles the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class.

The New Sonata comes in three available trim levels: GLS, SE, and the Limited. The GLS has 16-inch steel wheels, 17-inch alloy wheels for the Limited, and 18-inch alloy wheels for the SE.

Although some of the interior materials remain the same, you will still find features such as the newly designed cabin, power heated adjustable leather seats, power sunroof, touch-screen navigation system, premium sound system, paddle shifters, fog lights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and rearview cameras that are available for upgrade.

Standard features for the new 2011 Sonata include a push-button start, XM Satellite Radio, iPod jack, and Bluetooth capability.

Safety features for this year’s model come with six airbags, an electronic stability system with traction control, antilock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist.
