Each hair that grows on your head has its own individual growth cycle. The hair comes in, grows to its natural length, then goes into a dormant or resting period. After 2 to 3 months the hair will fall out. In its place there will grow a brand new hair.

When a new hair doesn’t grow back, or if it grows more slowly than normal, it may be simply because you are growing older and your body is not responding as it did when you were younger. This is a condition called Androgenetic Alopecia and is the culprit in nearly all hair loss cases. It is believed that as many as 9 in 10 hair loss instances is due to the Ageing process and Androgenetic Alopecia.

Since diet, stress, general good health, and genetics play roles in the level of hair loss you experience, there is a possibility that you can reverse some of the factors or at least improve them. Genetics is obviously not alterable. You can, however, improve your diet, your health, and your stress levels.

Emotional stress is known to cause hair to fall out, so you may be able to reduce that or at least learn to manage it better. Doing stress relieving exercise will help to slow the hair loss. Yoga and other meditative methods are also very helpful.
