The Music Starts In The Streets - Urban Gorilla DJs

Dec. 22, 2010 - PRLog -- DJ Gutta Down began as part of a street promotions unit called SWS URBAN Gorillaz. He along with group member, Mr. Hard Timey were successful in moving over 50,000 MIXTAPES in the streets from the West Coast to East Texas and DJ Gutta Down also mixed and hosted most of those mixtapes. DJ Gutta Down’s success continued as he was also one of the brains behind the Hood Bussin’ Mixtape series, one of the most well-known mixtape series in the streets of Atlanta in the early 2000's, hosted by Young Skoop.  

In 2008, the Urban Gorilla DJs sponsored and hosted the Celebrity Birthday Bash at The Savoy Lounge which featured UGK Records, Universal Records, Convict Music, Def Jam Recording Artist, Big Krit. All artists and labels were interviewed and featured on Urban Gorilla TV. In addition to djing, DJ Gutta Down also gives his time and expertise on panels such as the ATL Record Pool, along side well known djs; DJ Drama, DJ Scream and DJ Bigga Rankin. Most recently, DJ Gutta Down hosted and interviewed artists at The Power Fest in Augusta Georgia, which featured well-known artists; Lyfe Jennings, Yung Joc, Big Kuntry King and TK & Cash of DTP. DJ Gutta Down was an integral part of Donell Jones’ promotional team and handled radio introductions in Augusta, Georgia for his single, “Love Like This”, which hit number 3 on the Urban AC Charts.

         DJ Gutta Down never sleeps. He continues his daily grind with mix shows on 94.9 Jamz fm., power 101.org, and www.urbangorillaradio.com. His "Slow Seduction" R&B Mixtape Series, the Urban Gorilla Radio Mixtape Series, and the Urban Gorilla/Hood Bussin’ Mixtapes hits hard in the streets. In addition, DJ Gutta Down has done mixtapes with artists; Treal Lee & Prince Rick (Calli Park Music), J Futuristic (Universal Records), Young Capone (formally of So So Def),  Charlie Boy (Battery/Jive), Rasheeda,  Tocarra Hamilton, Mike Bless (Slip N Slide Records), The East Side Boyz (Little John) and many more. His talent is endless as DJ Gutta Down is also a producer & sound engineer and has worked with projects for the sister of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, Reign Drop Lopes and the project of  a locally known Atlanta artist/actor named Lil’ Dude.
