Hilton St.Petersburg Bayfront Celebrates The New Dali Museum Opening!

Dec. 21, 2010 - PRLog -- In the spirt of Salvatore Dali there will be a "surreal" procession leaving from the old musuem's location in St. Petersburg at 10AM on 1/11/11 and ending at the new location at One Dali Blvd--directly across the street from Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront.

Hilton St. Petersburg has created an overnight package (not in the least surreal) to honor its new neighbor and  the great artist the museum honors.  The Dali Museum St. Petersburg houses the largest collection outside Europe of the works of Salvador Dali. The collection marks 45 years of collecting Dali's works by  A. Reynolds Morse and Eleanor Morse.  It is best known for its 96 oil paitings which offer "an excellent overview of Dali's major themes and symbols..."

Other festivities on The Dali Museum Opening day include: entertainment, a dedication program with S.A.R. la Infanta Cristina of Spain, Duchess of Palma de Mallorca, and a ribbon cutting ceremony with Spanish Royalty presiding — starting at 11:00 a.m. — will mark the beginning of a new era for the Dalí at its new location. The festivities will continue until 3 p.m.  

Cost: The procession, ribbon cutting and outdoor festivities are free and open to the public. Timed tickets to visit the museum after the opening ceremony will be available for sale online on a limited basis beginning December 10.
