Oil for Ghana – no longer a dream!

Ghana’s Vice President H.E. Dramani Mahama to open Ghana Summit, returning to Accra in 2011.

Dec. 20, 2010 - PRLog -- Following the start of commercial production of oil off its southwest coast, Ghanaian decision makers, their partners and international investors will meet once again at The Ghana Summit in April 2011 to discuss developments and future opportunities in Ghana’s oil industry. Key decision makers from currently the West Africa’s hottest oil and gas producing country will discuss legal and fiscal issues, how to maximize revenue as well as local content and increase investments in the country.

Ghana’s Vice President H.E. Dramani Mahama is confirmed to open the 2011 Ghana Summit in Accra, in April and has stated that, “as an emerging oil and gas economy, Ghana is bound to face challenges consistent with that industry. Government is aware that the best way to confront these challenges in order to achieve its ‘Better Ghana Agenda’ is by shared experiences.” He described the Summit as a “commendable platform which provides stakeholders and other industry players in the oil and gas industry with opportunity to share ideas, experiences and information.”

Hon Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah (MP), Deputy Minister of Energy, Ghana will lead the government delegation and discuss Ghana’s upcoming developments and how the Petroleum Law can optimize the impact of oil and gas activities in local development.

GNPC’ s Managing Director, Nana Boakye Asafu-Adjaye is set to deliver a Special Address to update participants on the GNPC’s strategy and involvement in the country’s oil and gas industry in the months to come.

The Ghana Summit, sponsored by Tullow Oil Plc, Lukoil Oil Company, Vanco, Eni, Oando, FMC Technologies, RWE, Shell, Expro, Mobicrane, Aker Solutions, Transocean Solutions, Technip, TMK, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Schlumberger is to be held on 12-14 April 2011 and is an essential forum to gain insights into the current developments in Ghana. Ministers, governmental and GNPC representatives will be present throughout the TWO days of the conference to network and discuss upcoming projects and contracts face to face. Delegates from International Oil Companies will be on hand to speak about possible collaborations and future opportunities.

The Ghana Summit also comprises an international exhibition set out to be the biggest to date in Ghana. Companies from around the world have already confirmed their participation as exhibitors and will showcase latest technological developments.
