Lookup Trending Topics with iPhone App

Dec. 19, 2010 - PRLog -- iPhone app maker Novel Approach today released the latest update to its iPhone app WikiLookup, arming iPhone users with Wikipedia articles on the latest trending topics on Twitter.

The release of WikiLookup v2.0 comes with the increasing popularity of apps available on the iPhone, which list the popular phrases and topics that have been posted on microblogging service Twitter.

New WikiLookup features include a listing of the top 10 trending topics.  Each topic is hyperlinked to an article on Wikipedia, which can be viewed within WikiLookup.

"We wanted to give iPhone users the opportunity to stay up to date with the latest trending topics, and to give them an encyclopedia definition and information about those topics", said Joe Lee, Vice President of Marketing at Novel Approach.

WikiLookup v1.0 was launched in early September 2010.  It allows users to read, search and save Wikipedia articles on the iPhone.  Additionally, WikiLookup has Safari-like bookmarks, support for Wikipedia's 250+ language versions and the ability to add notes and comments to Wikipedia articles.  Since v1.0, WikiLookup has posted updates for new features including: sharing articles on Facebook, Twitter and Email; and support for the four chinese language variants of Wikipedia.

Lee says the company will continue to rollout updates for WikiLookup with new features, based on suggestions from their users.
