Golden Cowrie Cebu - Traditional Native Filipino Food. Bad Service, Bad Food.

Dec. 18, 2010 - PRLog -- Ayala Mall, Cebu City is the contact point for many visitors to Cebu, Philippines.  The traditional congregation area is Ayala Terraces.  What better way to review a restaurant in the Ayala Terraces offering Traditional Native Pinoy and Filipino food.  

We sent a reviewer to review the restaurant and essentially our reviewer left feeling somewhat upset by our dining experience at this Ayala Mall, Cebu restaurant.  http://www.ayalamalls.com.ph/

Essentially our experience was as follows with Golden Cowrie restaurant;

1. Lack of service
2. Lack of attentiveness to taking orders
3. Orders were received for wrong dishes
4. Management deducts from wages of staff the price of the dish for the wrong order
5. Floor manager did not entertain any understanding of why we were upset about the wrong orders.
6. There was no feeling that the staff cared
7. There was no real apology
8. Food was poor quality, fatty meat and blobs of fat on dishes ordered.

The general ambiance location is great for this place overlooking the restaurant .. but the owners will never know why customers are so angry at this place even to the point of writing negative review articles online.

How disgusting is the greedy management practice of deducting from the wages of the staff any dishes which far outweigh in percentage terms the remuneration they are receiving.  Even more frustrating is the general absent mindedness of the staff whom do nothing to reassure, say sorry, offer to compensate for dishes we ended up paying for that we did not order.  The reason we paid for dishes we did not order is that they were given to us by staff wrongly even after repeating the order.  Furthermore, the customer (OWNERS NOTE: CUSTOMER (WHO HAS NO RIGHT OF REFUND IN YOUR RESTAURANT) ends up paying for the wrongly delivered dishes to stop the absurd practice of deducting from the staff wages the price of the dish.

Of all the dishes we ordered not one was anything to write home about.  The food was bland, poor quality and in summary our reviewer will never visit this restaurant again.  

How long this business will survive .. its anyones guess.  The service is downright terrible, the food is downright horrible.  Thats putting in bluntly.  Management don't care to listen to the customers by our experience unless absent mindedness is something that cant be helped.  

IN SUMMARY: THIS PLACE FAILED OUR UNDERCOVER TEST.  WE ARENT RECOMMENDING TO OUR DINING CLUB MEMBERS TO TRY THIS RESTAURANT.  BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME I GUESS.  JUST DONT PI$$ OFF THE REVIEWER
