Download the song "Magic of Christmas" to Support SOS Children’s Villages

Dec. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- Prolific composer and music producer, Jeffrey Silverman, has released a new holiday song, “Magic of Christmas,” performed by Samantha Sidley, to benefit SOS Children’s Villages.  Proceeds from the sale of the song, “The Magic of Christmas,” viewable on YouTube  and available for purchase on iTunes, will be donated at 10 cents of every dollar to support the work of SOS Children’s Villages around the world. When the goal of 1,000,000 song downloads is met, the amount donated to benefit SOS Children’s Villages will be increased to 40 cents for a grand total of $400,000 to SOS Children’s Villages.

SOS Children’s Villages provides loving, stable homes to children around the world whose biological families cannot properly care for them. The MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS SOS campaign is an organized effort to bring 1,000,000 people together to quickly raise $400,000 for SOS Children’s Villages this Christmas season. When 1,000,000 people from around the world download the song, SOS Children’s Villages will receive $400,000 to use in their tremendous efforts to rebuild the broken lives of children who have lost parents and homes.

Jeffrey Silverman has composed, produced and orchestrated hundreds of musical titles for theater, film, television and recording projects. Early in his career, he conducted Broadway shows including Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Song and Dance," starring Bernadette Peters, and the original Broadway production of "Les Miserables". Now a multi-platinum record producer, his compositions have been presented on Broadway as well as many cable and network channels including FOX, BRAVO, A&E, MTV, THE HISTORY CHANNEL, BIOGRAPHY, and TLC.

Mr. Silverman was introduced to the work of SOS Children’s Villages by his neighbor Tasia Valenza Stern, a passionate SOS Supporter. “When I became aware that orphaned and abandoned children, the most vulnerable people in the world, have a chance at a hopeful and productive life through the work of SOS Children’s Villages, I was hooked,” Mr. Silverman said, “I was also very impressed by the strategy SOS implements in healing the loss of homes and parents:  Construct a home (an SOS Village) and introduce a loving mother figure who will raise, as her own, several children who have lost their families.  The song, ‘Magic of Christmas,’ is about the warmth, sense of security and peace that holiday season brings. SOS Children’s Villages brings these exact qualities into the lives of children who have suffered devastating losses.  Hopefully the video and song will enhance world awareness of the mighty efforts of SOS and the innocent children it serves.”
