Kannada Cine Star Radhika Gandhi inaugurates ‘Click a Smile’ exhibition

Dec. 17, 2010 - PRLog -- ‘Click a smile’ photography exhibition by Akshaya Patra foundation was inaugurated by Kannada cine star Radhika Gandhi yesterday. The two day long exhibition showcases over 20 photographs chosen from over 300 entries. The prize winners were chosen by Mr. Senthil Kumar, Winner, Cannes International 2001 & 2003. The exhibition is happening at Alliance Francaise Bangalore, Vasant nagar and it ends at 6.30 pm today.

Speaking on the occasion Ms. Gandhi said “I’m always overwhelmed to be part of Akshaya Patra’s endeavors”. She also promised to celebrate her birthday falling on the 1st of January with Akshaya Patra.

The theme ‘Click a Smile’ was chosen to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Akshaya Patra and remember the million smiles Akshaya patra brings everyday by serving hot, nutritious meal to hungry school children. Akshaya patra runs the world’s largest NGO run midday meal programme feeding more than 1.2 million underprivileged children every day.

The winner of the ‘Click a Smile’ contest gets an all-expense paid trip to one of Akshaya Patra’s decentralized kitchens.

The exhibited pictures are now available on auction and the proceeds will go to The Akshaya Patra Foundation – Which means feeding more hungry children and bringing more smiles!
