Dec. 15, 2010 - PRLog -- Westlake Village, CA— Oaks Christian School (“OCS”), an independent college preparatory school for students in grades 6th through 12th, will be hosting the 2nd annual Holiday Hardwood Invitational, a high school basketball competition, showcasing talent among girls and boys basketball teams from across California.

The Holiday Hardwood Invitational tournament was conceived as a way for California-based high school basketball players and teams to highlight their skills to college coaches and scouts seeking the best of the best. The competition will employ a 16 team traditional bracket and be separated into a boys teams tournament and a girls teams tournament. Of the approximately 100 participants, roughly 25% have already been invited to enroll in and play for Division I schools such as Boston College, California State University Northridge, Duke University, Oregon State University, San Diego State University, and USC.

“The OCS tournament showcases some of the best basketball players in the country and the Holiday Hardwood Invitational provides them a forum where college coaches and scouts can assess their skills,” said André Chevalier, High School Dean of Students and Boys Head Varsity Basketball Coach, Oaks Christian School. “Through our award-winning athletic programs, our students learn the value of team work, discipline, and the importance of individual contribution. We are honored to be hosting the 2nd annual Holiday Hardwood Invitational and wish all competing schools and individual players the best of luck.”
