Knowing that many of Ramona Elementary’s students are financially- In the week since making the announcement, dozens of volunteers have donated gifts or money to buy gifts, which Phillips often purchases at a local “dollar store.” Today, dozens more showed up at one of the two wrapping locations -- Phillips’ home and DCH Auto Group -- to wrap the 550+ gifts with love. Phillips and a dozen more volunteers plan to deliver the gifts to the Oxnard, CA-based school this Thursday morning December 16, from 9:45 to 11:00 a.m. Each class in the K-6 school will visit the school’s common area to enjoy holiday treats and to pick an age-appropriate gift to call their own during what might otherwise be a very bleak holiday season for them and their families. Phillips was elated by the enthusiastic response of the Right Road Kids community, saying, “Wow, when word gets around through our Volunteer Network, people come out of the woodwork to help! It's like we have this special ‘helping-kids- Ventura County-based Paula Phillips and Right Road Kids!™ (formerly known as The Dream Fund Outreach) have been working directly with kids in schools, classrooms, and youth organizations throughout Ventura County and around the country for over eighteen years. Through a plethora of award-winning creative programs, the non-profit organization has inspired the self-esteem, character, confidence, and talents of tens of thousands of children and has been instrumental in helping them find and travel their Right Roads in school and in life. In November 2010, Phillips was honored by the Oxnard School Board for her extensive efforts to assist local schools.
