The engine is coupled to a 5-speed automatic transmission with either a rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive that manages to make gear shifts relatively smooth and seamless. The 2011 Toyota 4Runner comes equipped with a powerful 4.0-liter V6 engine, produces 270 horsepower, and 278 pound-feet of torque.

With the new powerful engine of 4.0-liter, the 2011 Toyota 4Runner offers maximum towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. The Toyota 4Runner is spacious inside, offering a total cargo volume of 47.2

Safety features such as a new brake override system, rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are also included on the all-new 2011 Toyota 4Runner as well as antilock brakes, traction control, and more.

The brake override system serves to help ward off unintentional braking, reducing jerking ride.

Optional features such as leather seating, power seats, rear obstacle detection, navigation and sunroof are available for upgrade.

Placing safety as a top priority, the Toyota 4Runner offers eight airbags such as frontal chest and knee airbags, side-impact airbags for front seats and side curtain airbags for all three rows.

The 2011 Toyota 4Runner is available in three trims: the base SR5, the Trail and the Limited. The Toyota 4Runner can seat up to five or seven people. Standard features include remote keyless entry, power doors and locks, air conditioning, power tailgate window, tilt steering and ten cup holders.

Satellite radio is also included as one of the standard feature. Features such as steering wheel controls, Bluetooth connectivity and other convenience features are only available on the Trail and Limited trims.
