ecycler Completes the Challenge

Dec. 11, 2010 - PRLog -- ecycler announced today that they completed the Fairfield Inn & Suites Small Business Road to Success Challenge. As one of ten small business finalists, ecycler received 15 free nights at Fairfield Inn & Suites to be used between September 13 and December 9 to travel around the country for the sole purpose of growing their business.

Ecycler shared its journey with the public by blogging, tweeting and posting photos on Flickr. Several videos were also produced and uploaded to YouTube viewable by navigating to http://www.youtube.com/ecycler. During the Fairfield Challenge, ecycler exceeded its goals of improving the environment, enhancing the social value of recycling and supporting local communities.

Timothy Laurent, co-founder of ecycler exclaims, “What a fantastic journey!” Laurent goes on to say, “We visited 13 cities, totaling 15 stays.”

As a “green” company, ecycler strives to minimize travel as much as possible, but sometimes it is inevitable (and necessary).

During the 15 Fairfield Inn & Suites stays, Fairfield Inn & Suites was used as home base, ecycler spread word to numerous businesses and individuals about how ecycler can help them recycle for free. Ecycler posters were posted at grocery stores, coffee shops and restaurants in all of the cities visited as a way to encourage discarders to join. During a stop in Colorado Springs, CO, for example, ecycler met a woman who said she doesn’t recycle at all because she has to pay a fee to do so. By signing up on ecycler.com, she can now recycle and save money at the same time. Craig Robertson, co-founder of ecycler details, “There are hundreds of thousands of households and businesses not offered curb-side pickup, or have to pay an additional fee, this is where ecycler makes its greatest impact.”

Ecycler announced its newest business discarder as the Fairfield Inn Orlando, Universal Studios. Plans are already set to find collectors for this hotel to meet their recycling needs. Ecycler collectors are those who pick recyclables up from a business or house and then sell them to their local recyclable buyer.

The grand prize winner will receive $20,000 and is to be announced on or around December 17, 2010.
