TRS Presents Its Third Annual Production Of “The Christmas Carol” - A Music-filled Play

Warner Grand Theatre Hosts the Production’s Largest Cast To-Date

The Relevant Stage (TRS) presents "The Christmas Carol” December 21 – 26 at the Warner Grand Theatre, 478 West Sixth Street. This adaptation of the Dickens classic “A Christmas Carol” is infused with old European carols and is the perfect holiday tradition for the entire family. Kara McLeod directs. Complete with Scrooge, Tiny Tim, The Spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Future, and a huge cast, this production also features a collaboration with People’s Yoga, Health and Dance and the Lyons Academy of Irish Dance, adding to the festivity of the Fezziwig party scene. “The Christmas Carol” plays for five performances beginning December 21 and runs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8 p.m., Friday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. (no performance on the 25th).

General Admission tickets are: $20 adult, $15 senior (55+)/college student, and $5 18 and under; Prestige Seating (first five rows, reserved seat) is $30 adult, $25 senior (55+)/college student, and $10 18 and under. A special Wine Lover’s Package that includes Prestige Seating and wine tasting at Off The Vine across the street from the Warner Grand at 491 6th St. prior to the show is available for $40 per person. Jack E. Curenton steps into the role of Ebenezer Scrooge in this year's production.  Jack has performed leading roles in over 80 stage musicals/plays such as: Man of La Mancha (Don Quixote), Camelot (Arthur), My Fair Lady (Higgins and Doolittle), Jacques Brel (Lead Baritone), Music Man (Harold Hill), Oliver (Fagin 3 different times), Beauty the Beast (Maurice), Kiss Me Kate (Petruchio), On Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest (McMurphy), Glengarry Glen Ross (Richard Roma), 12 Angry Men (Juror #8) and 12th Night (Orsino) to name a few.

He recently produced and toured in a southern California productions of Fiddler on the Roof as Lazar Wolf and a tour of Pirates of Penzance as the Major General in June. He followed this by producing a tour with the musical group The Black Tongue Bells as the lead Story Teller/Narrator in their Swamp Opera, “That Great and Dreadful Day-Tall Tales From The American Swamp”. Over the last year he also entertained up to 8000 of his new “Best Friends” daily as the Narrator/Sultan in the Disney California Adventure Park production of “Aladdin, the Musical Spectacular”.

With over 350 Voice-over, Video, TV-Radio, commercial credits he was recently cast in a leading role in a Pilot for a TV series, “Ghost Town” (Sunny Boy Entertainment) that premiered at the LA Studios in Feb and he recently appeared on an ABC Family Channel Web special tied to their popular TV series Kyle XY. He is frequently seen on KTLA/KABC/Fox in Commercials for the Ontario Auto Center (CA) as the Zany (and often wrong) Dr I P Dollar…a character who thinks “He Knows Everything About Everything!”

“Kiss Me Kate,” starring Ray Buffer and Kristin Towers-Rowles, will open The Relevant Stage’s fourth season February 18, 2011. The new season also includes “Frankenstein, the Musical” and five additional productions to be announced.
