President and General Manager Yan Skwara commented, “San Diego Boca FC is looking for some solid players that we can add to our existing roster for the upcoming 2011 NPSL season. Our first season in the NPSL was a good one as we were one game away from making it to the final-four out of 31 teams, so we have a solid base of players going into this years training camp which starts this coming February.  We know there is a lot of good local talent and we want to see all local players who feel they can play at the next level to come and show their game. We will have a very detailed open tryout that will give every player the opportunity of time and space to show their skills to our coaching staff. We are excited to have this official open tryout in preparation for our upcoming 2011 NPSL Season.

San Diego Boca FC currently is a member of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and also operates the SD Boca FC Reserve club that is a member of the San Diego County Soccer League (SDCSL).  Both SD Boca FC sides have recently shown incredible success in 2010; the reserve team’s winning season so far (7-2-0) in the San Diego County soccer League and the NPSL SD Boca FC first team squad recently played to a  to a 1-1 tie against Mexico League A team, Irapuato with Mexican National Star Cuauhtemoc Blanco.

San Diego Boca FC represents the pinnacle of talent for outdoor soccer in San Diego. Boca FC plays in the National Premier Soccer League, a minor-league U.S. soccer league beneath the MLS. The NPSL is the successor to the Men’s Premier Soccer League which formed in 2002. The league was comprised of 31 teams in the 2010 season spanning the entire United States anticipating over 40 team in 2011 (www.npsl.info), including San Diego Boca FC as part of its Western division.

Potential players will be evaluated by the Boca coaching staff, including Head Coach Eliseo “Papo” Santos along with his assistant coaches who will assist Coach Santos.  Coach Santos is also the head coach for the boy’s soccer program at Hoover High School and the director of the International Friendship Soccer Leagues Select Teams which covers San Diego County and Tijuana.
