“The Object Show” Exhibits at the Alliance for the Arts
Alliance for the Arts, The Object Show – An Invitational, will show December 3rd-31st, featuring three-dimensional art created by over 25 area artists. A special opening reception for The Object Show will be held on December 10th from 5:00-7:30PM.
A special opening reception for The Object Show – An Invitational will be held on December 10th from 5:00-7:30PM. Community members are invited to meet the artists, view and purchase artwork and enjoy catering by LaMotta’s Italian Restaurant & Pizzeria.
Viewers will experience the result when artists are prompted to create an object without any limitations. Pieces take form with a variety of mediums including wood, Raku, fiber, steel, glass and more. One-of-a-kind artwork will be displayed on pedestals, suspended from the ceiling and hung on the walls.
Exhibition attendees will be introduced to work by JoAnn Bediet, a ceramic artist specializing in Raku, the Japanese form of firing. Artist, Stephen Hayford shows his unique art of compositional storytelling with dioramas and conceptualization. Jim Krieger showcases his pieces that “function in everyday life,” including tables and lamps made from steel, wire and glass among other materials.
Each artist, showing in this exhibition has developed their piece with their own individualized set of mediums. Participating artists include Lauren Baker, JoAnn Bedient, Val Curry, Patricia Fay, Katie Gardenia, David Hammel, Stephen Hayford, Ricki Howie, Jim Krieger, Polly Matsumoto, Morgan Paine, Anica Sturdivant, Mary Voytek, Jud Nelson, Terry Tincher, Ralph Bigletti, Lily Hatchett, David Hatchett, Xavier Brignoni, David Acevedo, Raymond Hernandez, Todd Babb, Jeffrey Scott Lewis, Tim Smith, Wesley Ceeley and Vyd.
