Beware of Nevada Short Sale Experts
In the distressed Las Vegas housing market, many Realtors are calling themselves short sale experts, however, many of these self-proclaimed experts have little or no experience closing short sale transactions. What criterion constitutes an expert?

A recent report released by IMS Advanced Realty Data Services on October 31, 2010 named The Myers Team the #1 Short Sale Real Estate Team in Nevada. Number one status was determined by actual short sale listings closed in 2010.
According to the report, The Myers Team with Century 21 Moneyworld has closed more short sale listings than any Real Estate Agent or Broker in Las Vegas. The Myers Team is nationally recognized as one of the most influential figures in real estate today. “Many Realtors proclaim themselves to be short sale experts; however, The Myers Team is the real deal. The Myers Team has continually broken sales records, and when it comes to short sale transactions, they are considered by most experts to be the industry leaders,” Myers said. Using a Realtor inexperienced with the short sale process can have devistating results for homeowners, such as rejection of the short sale, foreclosure, or being required by the bank to pay a large promissory note in exchange for a short sale approval. An experienced agent knows how to sidestep these landmines and protect the homeowner from the bank.
