Feds seize fake ugg boots

Dec. 9, 2010 - PRLog -- Federal agents have seized $150,000 worth of fake bags, boots and makeup during a raid at an open-air market in Bucks County.

Authorities say no arrests were made during the Tuesday morning raid at Rice's Market near New Hope.

The Homeland Security agents focused on supposed Burberry scarves and handbags, Ugg boots and MAC cosmetics being sold by nine vendors.

John Kelleghan, special agent in charge of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Philadelphia, say counterfeiters are part of a global criminal enterprise -- supported by shoppers.

A call to the market's office was not immediately returned Tuesday.

The thriving, twice-a-week market is home to hundreds of vendors, from artisans to Amish farmers.
