Jennie Walker Top 10 Finalist in British Airway's National Face of Opportunity Contest

New York based recording artist, Jennie Walker, is a Top 10 Finalist in the British Airways Face of Opportunity Contest for 2010.  Ms. Walker, who is owner of Jennie Walker Music Publishing (ASCAP), created a business pitch surrounding the release of her debut album “Night Flight to London” and the benefits of having a CD release party in London, England, as well as partnership ideas with British Airways and her album and single by the same name, “Night Flight to London”

As a Top 10 finalist, Jennie Walker’s video pitch will be part of a final round of voting, which begins on December 10, 2010 and ends December 17, 2010 at midnight to determine the top 2 finalists. Each of the three finalists will have approximately 5 minutes to pitch their global business plan and demonstrate how winning a British Airways Travel Grant will benefit their business and allow them to  better meet their business objectives. The panel judges will include:
-        Bill Rancic: entrepreneur, best-selling author and first season winner of The Apprentice
-        Bethenny Frankel: celebrated natural food chef, creator of the Skinnygirl Margarita, and New York Times best-selling author of Naturally Thin and The Skinnygirl Dish
-        Barbara Corcoran: Corcoran group (sold in 2001 for $70M), best-selling author, investor on ABC’s SharkTank and contributor to the Today Show and other media outlets

Jennie Walker was selected in this national competition out of a group of approximately 1,200 entries and, as a finalist, has already won an invitation to participate in three days of events in New York and London during February 2, 3, and 4, as well as a round trip ticket to any destination British Airways flies to around the world, to further her music business.

While in London during February, Jennie Walker will host the CD release party for her debut album “Night Flight to London”, participate in media drops and key business meetings to further her music career.  She plans to meet with music publishing companies, music licensing firms, management companies, producers and recording artists.

Jennie Walker is signed to UK based, Maddie Records   Her album, “Night Flight to London, “was produced by Grammy nominated and 12 –time platinum selling producer Tommy Faragher, whose most recent #1 single on the Billboard digital chart was for the GLEE CAST version of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream.”  The song is the best selling single to date from the Emmy winning TV show.
