By: cheap ugg boots "Oh my God, she is so different, I couldn't begin to tell you," she says. Of leaving ER after six years, Margulies says it was just time. "I had done six years of a great show and my character was really based around George Clooney's character. When he left after year five, I really felt the absence of their relationship," "And I'm from the school of `leave them wanting more'." If Margulies' recent Golden Globe award for her portrayal of Alicia is anything to go by, clearly the audience wanted more. They had time to miss her. "That's important I think," Margulies says, smiling. "I know there's a big pressure in this industry to constantly work, but one of my favourite actresses is Robin Wright, and it's probably because I don't see her enough. "There is something to be said for going out in the world and living your life and having something to draw on when you come back into the next role. "I dabbled a bit - I did some episodes with The Sopranos, I did a short-lived series a few years ago, but this is my first foray back into a serious TV job. "You know I've gone off and I haven't stopped working but in the mainstream TV eyes, to them I have, and that's fine, that's as it should be. "That's the great comfort is that they can miss me and hopefully I can come back and do another five years of something that says something." Here, the serious actor emerges as, beautiful bootro.com brow furrowing, Margulies carefully considers the character of Alicia. "She is somehow is able to forge ahead with a tremendous amount of grace and she doesn't seem to crack," she says. "There is something about the way she reacts to the situation that I admire because I would react emotionally as myself." It is not until the ninth episode of The Good bootro.com Wife that we see Alicia cry. "That's a long time for her to break down, and I'm sure once that crack is opened ... there is no way you can handle all of that pressure and remain human without falling down," Margulies says. With a devilish grin, she confesses her biggest challenge in playing Alicia is "she's quite ladylike, and I'm not". "I try. But I'm just inherently a tomboy," she laughs. "I'm more feisty than her. I don't have her patience. She thinks before she acts. "I wish I had some of her composure." It's hard not to be struck by Margulies professionalism and the lack of egos on set. "That's because we beat them," a producer jokes, before adding, seriously, that Margulies "sets the tone". "The best sets I've been on are happy sets. If the actors are high maintenance or not prepared, it trickles down," Margulies shrugs. "I feel a responsibility to come prepared and with a great work ethic so we can have a good time. Pretty much three-quarters of our lives right now are spent here, so you want to enjoy it. "I love acting, but you dont need to be miserable to be good at it. # # # http://www.bootro.com/ End
