Dec. 14, 2010 - PRLog -- Raleigh, NC - There is no shortage of drop-off centers for Toys for Tots in the greater Raleigh area. The Raleigh North Carolina site lists about 250 drop-off centers.

There are about 100 drop off centers in Raleigh; over 50 in Cary and Morrisville; around 30 in Durham and Chapel Hill; over 30 in Oxford, Henderson and Wake Forest; just under 15 in Holly Springs, Garner, Fuquay-Varina; close to 20 in Knightdale and Zebulon; and approaching 10 in Smithfield and Clayton. http://raleigh-nc.toysfortots.org/local-coordinator-sites/lco-sites/donate-toys.asp

But donations of toys so far are surprisingly low. In a December 12 story by NBC17's reporter Marilyn Peguero, she reported that last year's collection was about 140,000 toys. So far this year not even one tenth of that has been donated since September. "They're hoping to collect at least 100,000 toys by next weekend," Peguero said on the video report. The estimated number of children needing toys is 100,000. http://www2.nbc17.com/news/2010/dec/12/1/donations-to-toys-for-tots-program-drop-48515-vi-27481/
