Sussex Fashion Awards 2011 announce their Charity Partners

Dec. 7, 2010 - PRLog -- The Sussex Fashion Trust are delighted that Teenage Cancer Trust have accepted their nomination as preferred Charity to support for the forthcoming Sussex Fashion Awards 2011.

£1.00 from every ticket sold on the Awards evening will be donated to TCT    


TCT is a charity devoted to improving the lives of young people with cancer. We believe that teenagers shouldn’t stop being teenagers because they have cancer. Usually placed on a children’s ward or with elderly patients, young people often feel isolated when facing a cancer diagnosis. We build specialist units in NHS hospitals where young people with cancer are treated with others their own age, in an environment suited to their needs.

Teenage Cancer Trust is currently building and equipping a brand new unit at The Royal Marsden in Sutton, Surrey. Due to open in June 2011, this 13 bed unit will cost Teenage Cancer Trust over £3 million to build and means for the first time, young cancer patients living in East and West Sussex will be treated with others their own age, in an environment suited to their needs. This unit will also complement the existing 17 the charity has already built across the UK.
