Nadel Architects Founder/President Receives City of Hope’s Most Prestigious Honor

Dec. 6, 2010 - PRLog -- Nadel Architects Founder/President Herb Nadel, FAIA, was awarded with City of Hope’s top philanthropic honor at its annual Spirit of Life® Gala at the Beverly Hilton Hotel Nov. 9. Nadel, one of Los Angeles' most prominent architects, received the Spirit of Life® Award, City of Hope’s most prestigious accolade, for outstanding business and philanthropic achievement. Members of City of Hope’s Los Angeles Real Estate & Construction Industries Council gave the award to Nadel, along with Paul Matt of Matt Construction.

"It is a privilege to help lead this year's fundraising campaign as one of the 2010 Spirit of Life® honorees," said Nadel, who is actively involved with a number of charities. "Our company takes great pride in supporting lifesaving cancer research, treatment and education programs such as those offered by City of Hope."

Nadel founded his firm 37 years ago and has since built a long-standing tradition of investing in America's communities and working with charitable organizations to help improve lives. The company in particular supports City of Hope's biomedical research and treatment center dedicated to the prevention, treatment and cure of cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Nadel himself has built a kinship with these sorts of organizations because his life was directly affected by cancer when he lost his daughter to breast cancer: "I know first-hand what cancer does to a family," he said. "Anybody who has lost a loved one to this disease knows how important it is to help patients and families benefit from new therapies and ultimately, a cure.”

Nadel became a licensed architect in 1968 and in 1973 he formed his own architectural shop and has since grown it into one of the nation’s leading design firms with work featured all across the globe.
